Habitat for Humanity is helping the Staunton Makerspace renovate our building in the first steps of what I hope is a very long and fruitful partnership between our organizations. Habitat has stepped up to help us build a new dividing wall, locate furniture, doors, and hardware, as well as navigate the complexities of building approvals with the City of Staunton. They are a true blessing, and I don’t know what we would have done without them. There was a team of over 10 volunteers here yesterday, working in freezing temperatures to make progress on our new deck. I was so impressed with the group I had to brew them up a hot pot of coco. The deck will provide us with some additional open air square footage that we can use during the warmer seasons for all sorts of larger projects, or to take on tasks that might be too fumy to do inside. Thank you Habitat. We’re looking forward to building great things with you in our shared community.
